Coming soon

101Pitchfork has just compiled a list of The Top 500 Tracks of the 2000s as part of their P2k: A Decade In Music series. Equally inspired and aggrieved by their list, I have put together my own top 100, and from 16th September I’ll try to count it down, one song per day, so that if I’ve got the maths right, my number one will be revealed on Christmas eve.

So come back here on the 16th September to find out what’s kicks it off. In the meantime, attempts to influence my choices are very welcome via the comments section.

I doubt anyone can really influence your selections but here are a few of my favourites.

In the spirit of a reverse chronological list, one a year (but not the best of each year mind you):

Cult Logic – Miike Snow (2009)
    Rosenband – Kelley Polar (2008)
    Sucker Pin – Modeselektor (2007)
Hustler – Simian Mobile Disco (2006)
Do The Whirlwind – Architecture In Helsinki (2005)
Sound Of Everything (Featuring Alice Russell) – Quantic (2004)
Symptom Of Disease (With Mr. Velcro Fastener) – Erlend Øye (2003)
    Miura – Metro Area (2002)
Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground – The White Stripes (2001)
Scattered Black And Whites – Elbow (2000)

Let’s see if we align on any of these…
